The Mid -Career training is to be provided to all the employees at various levels / stages of their career before they are promoted to the positions of higher responsibilities. For officers of Indian Telecom Service, the MCTP is to be organized by NTIPRIT. The MCTP for ITS Officers is to be conducted at three stages of their career in Phase I, II and III as detailed below:
(i) Phase I: For the ITS Officers with 7 to 9 years of service, a four week training is to be imparted with two weeks Technical Component (at NTIPRIT) and two weeks Management Component at an external institute.
(ii) Phase II: For the ITS Officers with 14 to 16 years of service, a four week training is to be imparted with one week Technical Component (at NTIPRIT), two weeks Management Component at an external institute and one week International Component at a foreign Institute.
(iii) Phase III: For the ITS Officers with 26 to 28 years of service, a two week training is to be imparted with one week Technical Component (at NTIPRIT) and one week Management Component at an external institute.
The participants of international training programs viz., ITEC, APT, ASEAN etc. are nominated by the Government of Member States of these Programs / Organizations. NTIPRIT conducts International Training Programmes for participants from other countries from time to time. The Institute specializes in the field of telecommunications especially in the areas of ICT in Disaster Management, ICT Policy and Regulation and in the emerging fields of telecom technology viz, 5G and its Use cases, IoT technologies and Ecosystem, Telecom Security Management.
The Institute has conducted International Training Programmes in ICT areas under Indian Technical and Economic Co-operation (ITEC) Program of Government of India as well as for Asia-Pacific Tele-community (APT), an intergovernmental organization. APT is a joint initiative of United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and Pacific (UNESCAP) and International Telecommunication Union (ITU). NTIPRIT envisages to offer such programmes to other regional and economic communities.
Under the ITEC Program 144 participants from 98 countries have attended this program. Similarly, under APT program, 35 participants from 17 countries have attended the programmes till date. In future too, NTIPRIT proposes to organize such programmes.

National Telecommunications Institute functions from Advanced Level Telecommunication Training Center, Ghaziabad. It is a self-contained campus full of life and amenities. It is spread over a lush green landscape of over 80 acres of land. Besides main building complex which houses the administrative offices, class rooms and laboratories, there are elaborate facilities like hostel for trainees, residential complex, shopping center, bank and post office etc.
Scope of work assigned to this division includes activities such as assessment of the impact of telecom policy initiatives of the government, analysis of international scenarios in telecom domain for furnishing policy inputs to the government, round table discussions on topics of concern, writing study papers, white papers on contemporary themes as well as upcoming technologies etc.
